“I just wanted to check in and take a second and say thank you for the opportunity you provided me a couple weeks ago to attend the Wyoming Retreat. There are really no words to describe what an amazing, once in a lifetime experience it was. I met a bunch of great Americans that I’m happy to call friends, saw some of the most beautiful country I’ve ever seen, and harvested animals that without this opportunity I probably would have never had a chance to. Im actually still to trying to process everything. There were times during that trip I was able to forget that I was days away from leaving for my 20th deployment. It was a huge blessing being able to unwind a little bit.”

“I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate everything that SOWW and the other great Americans that volunteered put into making the Maine Retreat possible. I had a blast, it was an incredible experience and It was great meeting you as well as meeting a great group of people who will all remain friends for life. Thank you for everything that you do and I look forward to hanging out with you all again soon!”

“I’m a retired Master Sergeant from the Joint Special Operations Command. I served almost 17 years with 1st Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment in Savannah, Georgia and have been Blessed to survive 13 combat rotations serving this beautiful country. I write you today in an attempt to thank you for what you’ve done for me with your gracious gift of my Service Dog through BADEN K9. I use the term “attempt” because your graciousness is so overwhelming and so enormous that putting mere words into an email will naturally fall short of communicating how honored I am for what you’ve done for me. So, I graciously accept your gift. I remain humble in the fact of the enormity of this precious gift that’s about to be bestowed upon me and thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for how you’ve changed my life.”

“Thank you very much for the opportunity to participate in SOWW Week at Eagle Mountain. It was an absolute honor to be a part of this. Even though I was one of three unlucky hunters to not tag a bear while there, it was an unforgettable week. Not only was it relaxing and an opportunity to truly decompress, but I was able to reconnect with a great friend and comrade (Keith Morges) along with Josh as well. The three of us all worked together almost a decade ago and have not seen each other since. Amongst this, the group that you/SOWW put together from across the Special Operations community was second to none. I went there knowing that I was going to reconnect with one brother who was struggling, as a surprise to him, and left with the opportunity to reconnect with two close friends along with numerous new friends/brothers! This does not happen often as you know, but it did at this event. I spent numerous hours and late nights one on one with other like minded men who were cut from the same cloth. Exchanging stories and being able to connect on a level that few could understand. A lot was said with few words, if you know what I mean.

I cannot express my gratitude to SOWW! This was by far the best week that I have experienced in the past 10 years. The only thing that could possibly top it, is to be on target with my boys, shoulder to shoulder again! THANK YOU again for the opportunity.”

“Our family wanted to tell you thank you for the wonderful family vacation. We had so much fun together, especially now that the boys are old enough to really enjoy all of the events and activities. You and your team are greatly appreciated for what you do for the military community. This was the first event of any such kind that we have ever done as a family and we were absolutely impressed! Your organization really pulled together to provide such numerous activities for us to do as a family. We had an awesome time in Myrtle Beach! Thank You again and God Bless You All!”

A Family Weekend Attendee

“Before being nominated for the SOWW Maine hunt, I have been in a state of depression with marital issues, physical injuries, and the inability to turn off my mind and get a good night sleep. The hunting trip was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve ever had. I felt like, for the first time in probably 8 years I slept. All SOWW personnel were very receptive as to listening to my personnel demons and offering extended help in the future. The family that owns the lodge make you feel at home in every way. The hunt itself was an incredible experience that I will never forget. After returning home I was afraid that my old
routine would return and my depression along with it. I was pleasantly surprised when I awoke that first Monday with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. The services provided in this experience go far beyond the hunt. I am forever grateful for this experience.”

“I’ll start off first by saying thank you, well planned and executed event…..means a lot when the venue is hosted by someone that truly wants to participate and give, rather than look for something in return. I have no doubt that that encounter has established a life long friendship…..I would be more than honored to participate again in the future, this event or others. Its hard to say what I got from the week, I will say it was a great setting in that I was comfortable enough to open up some to folks I felt as non-judgmental and possessing much common ground. being in familiar company and knowing the guy to your left and right have dealt with similar issues makes it much easier to be open and possibly look for answers to “un-askable questions” That being said, I also liked being there in a listening roll as well, being able to encourage my brothers to seek out help and not hide from potentially fixable scenarios. It was truly an awesome, therapeutic, and fun experience! Thank You SOWW!”

“My family and I would like to thank you for the weekend you provided us. I assume you know it was a nice gesture however it was more than you could possibly imagine. It has been 4 weeks now since my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the early age of 30. Now that the initial shock is over, we are concentrating on crushing this as a family and coming out stronger on the other end. This is the second time you (SOWW) has shown support for my family. Two years ago I was invited to “takin bacon” however it was days before a deployment and I wanted to spend it with my family. Not only did you invite them down but you provided lodging and a vehicle.

Thank you so much for your support to the community and all that you and SOWW are doing for warriors all around.”

“I was completely blown away by Takin’ Bacon! You guys treated us like All Stars! The guides were great, the sponsors were over the top, and SOWW pulled out all the stops to make a great weekend. All of your hard work is greatly appreciated! I was completely consumed by the hunt and the fellowship, all the normal worries and concerns were long gone for that short time….. I believe in what you all are doing and if you need anything from me just let me know. Thanks!”

“I had a great time at Takin’ Bacon. I was amazed and overwhelmed with the hospitality of all of the sponsors and volunteers. The experience was one that I will remember. I cannot express how much I enjoyed my time with SOWW at Takin’ Bacon. I am spreading the word as much as I can about how incredible the time was and the efforts of SOWW.”

“I just wanted to say Thanks for having me. The hunt was awesome and the time spent with like minded individuals was even better. It made me realize how much I really missed my time with the guys. Great stuff. Thanks for all you are doing for all of us!”

Jay, Jason “Jay” RedmanAuthor of The Trident Motivational Speaker Founder of Wounded Wear

“SOWW, you put on the best event for wounded warriors I’ve seen yet! It was truly inspirational seeing great Americans putting together this hunt for us. All of the time, effort, and support from SOWW really makes me proud to be an American. The best hunt I’ve been on and it will always be etched in my memory. Thank you again SOWW!”

“Just wanted to send you a note about the great time I had “hunting hogs” and spending time with other guys who have been hurt and connecting with others who share a similar passion for hunting and the outdoors. Hunting is such a huge part of my life, that to me it was an instrumental part of my healing process when i got hurt in 2005. To go out with GREAT AMERICANS and share a day hunting forgetting about the long day of physical therapy or what happened down range was awesome. It helped me relax and get ready to go face my day tomorrow. Once again thank you for what you do and I hope your operation expands to help more wounded guys next year so they can make new friends, memories and share in the healing process of the outdoors at Lays Lake Hunting Club, thanks again and hope i see you in March for Makin Bacon II thanks again.

RLTW and De Opresso Liber”

“The outpouring of support from the true patriots at SOWW was truly humbling. The time and effort these great Americans placed in planning and executing a first rate hunting event for us wounded guys was amazing to see. Thank you SOWW for puting together one of the best hunts I have ever been on.”

“Man I was excited to get a call from Brian to attend the Redfishing Trip 25-28 June. When I arrived at the Plantation everyone was so friendly. The support that went into the event was top notch. The SOWW personnel were willing to assist with anything any of the six wounded warriors needed. It was great to meet all the SOWW folks and other warriors. I can’t remember a time that I laughed so much and just was able to relax. I fished with what I would say was the best crew and boat there. I’m sure everyone else would say the same about their boats and crew. Doc and his mate Vern were great guides and showed us an unbelievable experience. Even though the weather moved in the last day of fishing everyone enjoyed themselves. SOWW thank you for a fantastic event! Hats off to Dave Floyd for overseeing this event and bringing some great guides to assist! I’m sure anyone attending future events will be able to relax, make lasting memories, and enjoy themselves!”

“I just want to let you all know that this trip is one that I will never forget. The hospitality that Dave and his family showed us is unmatched. This gentlemen and his family exemplify everything that is noble and humble. They provided relaxation, and an opportunity to link up with a Ranger buddy that was wounded in action while we were on a critical mission. Paul is one of my best friends. I’m glad I had the opportunity to share this experience with him as well as link up with Dave and his family.. Men and women of superior integrity and my new friends. RLTW!”

“Dave and his family showed us an amazing time in Cape Cod. Dave’s family and friends showed us that the American people still care about the troops and what we do. If there is anything I could do to help out SOWW for any of your events please feel free to let me know. I would love to help out another Ranger or veteran on one of these events. Fishing for shark and being able to slap it was something that I could finally cross off of my bucket list. Thank you for putting this event together and allowing Lio and I to finally link up. RLTW!”
